[A2014] Some Initial Impressions

Anime has been a very big hit or miss piece of entertainment for me the past two years, with a lot of the series I watch being misses. The last one I truly enjoyed (in the aspect that I could not wait every week for a new episode) was Oreimo (aka "My Sister Can't Be This Cute). Luckily for me this season has given me that love of anime back... and it's all thanks to a late night at Battle Bliss where a group of us otaku watched Euro Trip then about 4 episodes of anime. To think I almost escaped my life long fate of being an otaku ^_^

Series: Nisekoi
Episodes Watched: 1
I can not say I was pleased with this one... in fact, I was pretty dissapointed considering this is one of the hype anime right now. I am a sucker for a good romantic comedy but this one seems to be following too many of the anime tropes for me to really get into it. Yakuzya seems to be a big thing right now (or using feudal Japan as a setting) but that doesn't really get me any more. I'm not looking for an anime to do what so many others have before. Guy and Girl being forced to be a couple just ins't my cup of tea anymore... but I will give this one a few more episodes before I really drop it.

Series: Blade & Soul
Episodes Watched: 1-5
I only started watching this because my friend Daniel invited me over for dinner, of which during he decided to watched the most recent episode of this series. While it is your typical MMO gone anime series, the art style and story were enough to keep me watching... and the most recent episode ended well enough I want to watch the next one. This is slated to be a short series, so I'll probably watch it all. Oh, and I'm excited for the English release of this MMO but that could be a while so this is the closest I'll get to playing it for now.

Series: Hitsugi no Chaika
Episodes Watched: 1
As I stated in this weeks AOW, I am on a moe trip as of late... Chaika is so freaking adorable. I love her so damn much even though I've only watched one episode. This series has a lot of potential. I love the character designs, and that fight with a unicorn was pretty freaking bad ass.

Series: No Game, No Life
Episodes Watched: 2
No Game, No Life is an interesting piece of animation. If you're a fan of anime about knowing stats and gambling, this is right up your alley. I've decided to watch it because of the unique animation style. The lines are very pretty to look at.

[AOW] Black Bullet (4/27-5/3/3014)

Sorry about the long delay of posting one of these! I've been very focused on being in my local TCG circuit (been getting pretty decent at Yugioh, Vanguard and a few other trading card games) in order to prep for the October YCS. This will be my first time going to a big event for a card game rather than anime or comics. I'm pretty nervous considering right now I have very little chance of making it even through the first of two days. Enough of that little rant, I'll prob post more entries on Yugioh in the future (such as deck profiles of what I currently play), but let's get to what you came here for- ANIME OF THE WEEK! =^_^=

[previous AOWs][Akia's MyAnimeList]

I've been on an ultra loli run for a few weeks now thanks to one of my newer buddies who himself is a pretty big loli fan... I've always been a fan but I never really embraced this side of me. In fact I used to make fun of a few people who were the type of fan I am. I used to project myself as a fan of smut more than loli where as in fact I'm an almost equal fan of both. Well, it's about damn time I've given in an embraced the ultra cute culture Japan has been releasing called "loli". Time to aww at cute girls who aren't exactly suppose to be girlfriend material cause they are too young :P
