[AOW] Angel Beats (3/24-30/2013)

Soooooooooooo, thanks to Netflix I've been re-watching this series but in English. I thought this was the weaker of the KEY series of anime (which includes Air, Kanon, Clannad and more recently Little Busters!) simply because it tried to be way too saddening (I'll go more into that when I'm finished with watching in English because I plan to do a review) but watching in English the series is a bit more enjoyable and reasonable in English. Besides, I love the opening.

Type: Original
Genre(s): Comedy, Tragedy, After Life, Action, Supernatural
# of Episodes: 13 + 2OVA
Synopsis:
Otonashi awakens only to learn he is dead. A rifle-toting girl named Yuri explains that they are in the afterlife, and Otonashi realizes the only thing he can remember about himself is his name. Yuri tells him that she leads the Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront) and wages war against a girl named Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri's claims that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi attempts to speak with her, but the encounter doesn't go as he intended.

[AOW] Ichigo Mashimaru (3/17-23/2013)

Rarely is there a moe show that isn't aimed at making lonely otaku guys horny (I'm staring at you Vivired Operation), yet shows such as Ichigo Mashimaru exist. I saw this quite a while ago, but RightStuf! sent out a swag package for my convention (the Fellow Anime Lovers Convention which is happening May 17-18, 2012 in El Paso Texas) that included a pencil board for the series... making me decide why not feature the show as AOW.

Type: manga adaptation
Genre(s): Comedy; Slice of Life
# of Episodes: 12; 3 OVA; 1 side story
Synopsis:
Everyday things make up the fabric of life whether its making friends, going to school, trying to make money, or celebrating a holiday. Ichigo Mashimaro is a heartwarming series that follows the daily lives of Itoh Chika, her sister Nobue, and her friends Miu, Matsuri, and Ana.

TWGOK OVA coming June 18

About time there was some more of The World God Only knows coming out, but this is just going to be an OVA and does not really continue the story... in fact it's more of a spin-off of an original story not from the manga version. The OVA is going to be bundled with the 22nd volume of the manga. At least this could lead to a season 3.

[AOW] Ben-to (3/10-16/2013)

I can't believe it has already been over a year since Ben-to season 1 debut to the world, yet there is no season 2!! *sigh* Good anime seems to not be getting more than one season for long periods of time. I know I'm waiting for season two of Mushi-Uta (that will never happen), High School of the Dead Panty & Stocking, and a few others. I'm lucky though because my all time favorite anime Oreimo has a second season starting next month. Anywhosils nettaversers, back to the topic of this weeks AOW BEN-TO!!

Type: Novel Adaptation
Genre(s): Action, Comedy, Martial Arts
# of Episodes: 12
Synopsis:
Sato Yo is a high school boy who likes SEGA games. One day, he enters a grocery store to buy some food for dinner. When he tries to take a bento box, he loses consciousness. Yarizui Sen, the leader of the Half-Pricer Club, forces Yo to join the club and he enters the bento war.

High School of the Dead Returns

If there is one anime that people keep saying "Hey Alicia, do you know if High School of the Dead is going to get a second season? That anime is kick ass!" well... the anime was named in the question. Now I can finally answer with "possibly". Still no solid green-lit for a second season of the hit zombie anime HSoTD buuuut after a 2 year hiatus the manga is finally returning to serialization via Dragon Age manga mag in Japan. This could only mean if the manga gets popular enough, or the demand for season 2 is just so overwhelming, we could see a second season by 2014. Fingers crossed.

New Vault Hunter coming to Borderlands 2

Been a while since I've found some solid news on Borderlands 2. While there has not been a confirmed level cap increase despite predictions one would arrive in March, there has been some even more interesting news circulating the net...

During a SXSW panel, Gearbox revealed
a new vault hunter would be joining the mix:

I personally wish a level cap increase would be implemented. I have one character who has hit level 50 and one who is almost there, but most of my friends have at least 3 characters who have been at level 50 for a while. I also want some news on the next DLC but haven't seen anything for that either. Oh well.

I honestly hope this new character isn't another "girlfriend mode" one made to make the gaming experience easier for those who have not really played Borderlands or FPS games in general before. Only 1 of those kind of characters is needed!
